What do Atheists believe?

Mike really is committed to bringing Bigfoot in and devoted much of his time, effort, and money to doing so. -the logic of pp

I'm an atheist, but Mike is being an a-hole. He should talk about something other than Bigfoot since he knows how Joe feels. There's a million other topics. I also think the evangelizer who keeps trying to convert me when I don't want to hear it is being an a-hole.

To clarify, I think both Joe and Mike are acting wrongly.

Yes, they are both pushing their beliefs on an unreceptive audience. The difference is that many religious people don't know or don't care about their audience's beliefs. They assume people do and/or should believe what they do.

No, religious people want you to hear the good news. Jesus instructed us to spread it.

Once someone says no thanks, the religious person should say ok, and then respect the fact you said no thanks.

If a religious person doesn’t constantly barrage people with religious talk after they know you aren’t interested, how are they being jerks?

Jesus didn't instruct anyone to do anything. People who never met him said that he said that.

Exactly.

If you genuinely believe this, then know you are the source of the problem, and you (and those like you) are the answer to the question "why don't atheists just be quiet about it".

If you aren’t a Christian and don’t believe the Bible you wont agree with me. I understand that. But Christians believe it.

History is full of accounts of long ago words and events.

Literally every history book written now is written by people who never spoke to the people they are writing about, or weren’t at the event they are writing about.

Atheists don’t have to be quiet. They just can’t assume their beliefs are “factual.”

There’s no book anywhere that proves God doesn’t exist.

They just have examined their thoughts and chosen not to believe in Him.

Atheism is lack of belief, not that no god can exist, so it can't be "factual" in the way you state.

Also, it is not "their thoughts" that have been examined, it is the evidence, or specifically, the lack thereof.

Atheists don’t believe the Bible is factual. Believers do. It’s opinion, not fact. Where is it written and accepted there is no God? In lots of opinion pieces.

Also, nobody is forcing you to believe. That’s the beauty of America. Everyone is free to believe or not. Big win for everyone.

You could link to a citation that proves no God exists?

Post it here. But it cannot be someone’s opinion.

Who is claiming the above?

Yeah, but I'm not building my entire belief system around something Genghis Khan may or may not have actually said and heck there are actual documents written by people who met Genghis. No such for Jesus. The whole Jesus thing is no more or less legit than the creation stories of the native peoples. Do what you want with it. Believe what you want but no body knows what Jesus 'really' said or thought.

So as an atheist you believe it’s not that God doesn’t exist; you just don’t believe?
