Has anyone had a bad experience with botox or restalyn? Any problems with nerve damage or uneven results? A dr. friend of mine has warned me of the risk and I was wondering if any has had or knows of someone who has had negative results. Also would you share where you had the procedure done?
THANKS! |
Sorry - I've had both and LOVED it!
I just wish I could afford it again - but not with this economy. |
PP here - Dr. Jennifer Parker Porter. Fabulous. |
When I was getting a facial last week I heard an earful about bad injectibles results from the young woman who was doing it. She said several women she sees who had Botox had real difficulty moving their facial muscles afterwards, to the point of discomfort. Not to mention looking expressionless. Worse were the stories about Restalyne and Juviderm pooling at the base of the nasolabial folds, resulting in visible lumps. No remedy except to wait. I still wasn't sufficiently spooked to not want to do down that road, until my good friend got one of the injectibles and had the pooling thing happen. She says she looks like Winston Churchill now. I don't think that's exactly true, but it is pretty noticeable. |
aside from the botulism near your brain and the pooling, I always thought it was a negative to see womens' faces looking superficially younger than their necks - a dead give away to me. |
I had restylane in the nasolabial folds and loved it. Very subtle, but it made me feel better about myself. There was no "pooling" or whatever. And it lasted A LOT longer than six months. My lines are not as deep two years later. I thought it was great!!!! |
9:46 here. I think the difficulty is that there's no way to predict who will have trouble with the injectibles and who won't. I'm sure going to a really good practitioner is helpful but it's no guarantee that there won't be problems. I also have concerns about possible long-term health affects of injecting these substances into our faces, but that's just me. |
