Your Favorite Bath Towels

I am looking to get new bath towels and was wondering what people recommended. I've heard great things about Restoration Hardware towels (so luxe!) but also have gift cards to Pottery Barn. Any recommendations either way?

I have a several Frette bath sheets and wash cloths and think they are overrated. I actually avoid them in the cabinet.

I just got some Sferra towels and am so far impressed.

The only Pottery Barn towels I have are hand towels and bath mats in our guest room, but they're nice.

I have a lot of towels from Restoration Hardware that I bought after a friend convinced me they were so great..... I rarely even use them, I find my Ralph Lauren towels I bought at home goods for about $8 each are by far my favorite. I am all about splurging but didn't find it to be worthwhile for towels.

And they are on sale this month! I find towels need replacing every 3-5 years so it's so much better to spend $5 per towel at Costco than $30 for fancy ones. I had restoration hardware towels for a few years and while they were nice and thick, that also made take forever to dry after using and thus prone to mildew smell.
