Comfortable, not too expensive bed sheets?

Something soft? They all feel scratchy to me...

I have had success with ordering high thread count sheets at a discount from overetock.com. If you have an issue with roughness you might want to try out a sateen weave--it's cotton but smooth...

Targets threshold line has some nice sheets.

I like Garnet Hill's percale sheets.

Ditto Target.

High thread count, 100% cotton. Marshall's, Home Goods, etc.

Costco and Target both carry supima Charisma sheets.

Too soft and yucky, not crisp and fresh.

Yup. I get nothing lower than 600, and get them from Marshalls and TJ Maxx.

Sateen

IKEA plain cotton. I don't like them quick as much as our $$$$ sheets, but they are pretty decent. Definitely not scratchy, but they won't last forever. Which is OK given the price.

I only buy the Calvin Klein sheets at marshalls or tjmaxx. I have never had a set pill on me. As you wash them more, the softer they get. I cannot recommend them enough.

my favorite one is from target. i accidentally tore it the other day (got caught on a nail above the drawer that i didn't know was there) and i was disappointed that my local target no longer sells single fitted sheets because i only use the full set in winter. i like the sheet so much i plan to patch it with the help of my facebook friends telling me how. i also am tired of living in such a disposable society but that's another thread entirely.

i also have a fitted sheet from lands end that i like really well but i don't see the same type this year.

I look for low thread count percale, personally. Closer to the sheets my grandparents used.

High thread count sheets feel like blankets to me. I prefer percale to sateen, it's smoother and crisper.
