Listrani's closed!

Does anyone know why Listrani's on MacArthur Blvd. closed after all of these years? And what is replacing it?

Don't know but the quality had been going downhill the past couple of months.

A new pizza place is coming to the old Palisades Pizza place. Seventh Hill Pizza which currently has a location on Cap Hill will be coming here.

A French bistro, Bistroquet, will be opening in the old Listrani's location. Because French food is SO different from Belgian, of which there are already two on the block.

Same owner as Bistro D’Oc. One son runs Bistro D’Oc, the other son will run Bistroquet.

Listrani's shot themselves in the foot when they declared that sports teams, and any kids in team uniforms, were not welcome. They no longer had the volume needed to support fresh food, IMO. They also failed to modernize the menu with less starchy options.

Oh, no!!! Then again, hadn't been there in years. Should have gone after Palisades Parade!

That's shocking!! They've been there forever.

Agree - and when I have been in there with kids - they did not seem thrilled for us to be there.

I went when I was a kid and I remember really loving it. When we moved to DC a few years ago I went there with my husband and kids and was VERY underwhelmed. The service was terrible and so was the food.

lackluster food, uncaring management...since like the mid 1990's. No surprise here

Anyone know if the new place will have muffins etc? There aren't any good quick breakfast places since marvelous market closed.

+1. How about a good, moderately-priced American restaurant instead, with a menu similar to Founding Farmers.

Salt and pepper across the street fits that bill bit does not get much traffic.

It fits the bill, but the food is terrible and the service is worse.

Oh, I think it's really sad when a neighborhood restaurant closes ...whatever the reason. I have to admit I only went to L's a few times.
