| anyone else have this? It is excruciating and then it's gone. This is the 3rd time in about 5 months since it has happened. |
This happened to me. Terrible. It ended up being diagnoses as TMJ pain. |
| Yes, but for me I think it's linked to a cold sore outbreak. |
| I've had this in my Eustachian tube (sort of behind my jaw). OWOWOWOWOWOW. It was like being shot. |
| OP here. I know you aren't supposed to use Q-tips in your ears but I did this morning and then later today - bam. It really is excruciating. Like an ice pick for a few seconds. SCARY. |
| Did you see The Wrath of Kahn? |
| I get this once in a while, so randomly. It can actually make me wince, cringe, and even say "ow" it hurts so badly. I have no idea what it could be, but it's got to be nerve related. |
| OP here. It's exactly like you described 16:46! |
| I had this and it was a pinched nerve in my neck. |
|
I have occasional TMJ symptoms and will have some ear pain. TMJ can cause pain all the way down your back, headaches, sharp pain in you jaw/ear, and is aggravated map by cold/sinus infection.
If you tend to grind your teeth at night or clench your jaw, it's probably related. Ibuprofen helps. |
Silly to use qtips. It's not in your outer ear. You can't access the problem. |
|
they are indeed "ice pick headaches" I get them too. I have a crazy high pain threshold, and they have been nearly doubled over.
