Super dizzy

I'm very, very dizzy on the first day of my period. Also nauseous and vaguely confused. I took a Midol which helped a little with nausea and cramps. Is this abnormal?

Are you bleeding a lot on the first day of your cycle?

Has this ever happened to you before, or is it typical for you at the start of your cycle? Also - what do you mean by "confused"? That's a bit more concerning. Need more info.

This sounded familiar- I had a girlfriend that got this. Every month she would basically be incapacitated on the first day of her period.

Migraine
Many women experience migraine attacks during their menstrual cycles. With this episodic neurological disorder, sufferers can experience dizziness, an intense headache, nausea, difficulty thinking, sensitivity to light or sound, numbness or a tingling sensation, according to the National Pain Foundation. NP here. Oh, I hope this is true. Fits me to a t. I am already going through the testing that tells me what I DON'T have. But the vertigo, dizziness and agoraphobia is just getting worse. I was always afraid of heights and slightly uneasy in wide open places, but now the big sky freaks me out. I'm having trouble driving on wide open highways and forget about bridges. I can be dizzy a lot of the time (but not actually spinny). I keep being afraid I've got a brain tumor or something, since most other things come back clear.

OP, something else to check is your iron levels. I was also anemic, and treating that made the dizzy episodes much less.

I was having dizzy spells recently, and realized I was slacking on taking my vitamins daily. (Including iron). 2 days after I started again I felt fine. A couple of weeks later I stopped again to see what would happen, and he dizziness started again. Definitely the iron for me!

Are you taking any prescription medication?

I am on anti-depressant meds and I experience these types of symptoms as well during my periods.
