Under eye circles

Anonymous
I've tried most everything, eye creams and concealers and I'm not seeing any improvement. I have very puffy and dark under eye circles. Sometimes it looks like someone took a black sharpie to my face while I was sleeping, it's that bad. Is there anything non-invasive I could do to improve this? If I went with injectables, what is the best option? I'm so tired of looking haggard and older than I am!

Could be a food allergy. It's a classic symptom.

What kind of food allergy? I have never heard this. And wouldn't I see reactions in other parts of my body, not just under my eyes?

I think my problem has to do more with old age (mid-40s). Maybe genetics too. Although I don't see it as much in my parents' faces.

Any solutions? Anyone, anyone?

I believe Retin-A helped my under-eye circles.

Is it genetics? I have them too and nothing cosmetic helped.

Allergy shiners? Environmental allergies, not food.

That's not old age!!

Have you been tested for allergies? I have the same problem with undereye circles and am finally going to an allergist next month, after hearing for years that allergies can be a major culprit. I don't have many other allergy symptoms but can't think of any other reason that I often wake up looking like I have two black eyes.

I get that when I don't get enough sleep and not enough water leading to stress.

Doesn't retinA say to avoid eye area? I thought under eyes was too sensitive foe retin A.

Red food dye does it to some. No other reaction. Just the purple eyes. Everything from sports drinks to Doritos. Read labels. I can always tell when my daughter had cheese curls or skittles usually shows u p the next day with her.

I have had a milk sensitivity since I was a baby, and the dark circles are a symptom.

I hadn't heard that and my doctor didn't point that out (not that he pointed anything out). I had less sensitivity under my eyes than anywhere else on my face however. Very little peeling and I think it's had a bigger benefit.

My experience only though.

OP, you might try keeping a journal-- on days you wake up with dark circles, make a note of what you had to eat the day before. Look for patterns. I've just started doing this myself in an attempt to figure out why mine are so dark some days, when I've had plenty of sleep, am hydrated, etc.

You probably need fillers in tear trough to solve the problem. good thing is once done it lasts for at least a year.

Nothing. I have them too and it's just because the skin there is so thin that the blood vessels show through.
