Can anyone recommend an eye cream to prevent wrinkles? They seem to be popping up all of the sudden.. I have really sensitive skin that tends to break out if I moisturize, so I'm not sure what product I can use. |
I love Hope in A Tube by Philosophy. It's thick, but not too thick, and it doesn't sting. And you can use it on your mouth, too. Best one I've found. |
I picked up a Ladies Home Journal at my daughter's dentist's office today. (Really, I just wanted to know how old Mariska Hargitay is... they didn't say, but I think she has a few years on me.) Anyway, LHJ said that eye wrinkles are more visible in winter because of the skin's general dryness. I'm noticing my own more, too. This gives me hope for less obvious wrinkles once my skin goes back to being slimy around May 1. |
Do you have fine lines (like age 40) or true wrinkles (like age 55)? If it's just fine lines, any of the firming eye creams are good. I like L'Oreal Revitalift. Clinique's All About Eyes is good too. For a feel-good cream, Bliss All Around Eye Cream is great, but doesn't temporarily "firm" the areas like the true firming creams do. I do Bliss at night and L'Oreal in the morning.
If you have deeper wrinkles, you'll need a heavier cream for night as well. |
OP here- I'm 30 and they're just fine lines. But still, I don't remember seeing them before! I think it's a combination of sleep deprivation and 22:15's dry skin theory.
Thanks for the suggestions. |
I went to Sephora about 3 weeks ago, bare-faced, and asked the same question. I am 40 and realized the other day that I am starting to see a few fine lines around my eyes. Really just a general dryness. Well, I was so delighted to find a sales person who 1.) said wow, for 40 you really don't have many lines at all, and 2.) steered me to an eye cream that was only $33 and said it was really great. I have used it now for 3 weeks and I love it. My skin breaks out really easily and a few months ago a drug-store eye cream I bought gave me a pimple on my lower eye-lid and made my eyes sting. I even still use a topical acne treatment at night!!
So, the magic potion is: Boscia, Enlivening Amino-AG Eye Treatment. Its kind of half way between a gel and a cream, comes in a little pump jar. |
Is there a cream to lift the crease between the upper and lower lids? I've just noticed that it's starting to sag just a tiny bit... there's suddenly a little extra skin. Can eye cream help that? |
I don't have an eye cream to suggest....but there is the website called make up alley that has great reviews on makeup and loads of other things, from recipes to health, and there is a message board and also a swap section where you can swap or buy products from other members.

La prairie....make the best eye cream hands down. Very pricey but well worth it. |
FWIW -- a PP was wondering how old Mariska Hagarity is. I recently read (in US Weekly, I think) that she's 45. It also said she recently suffered a collapsed lung -- scary! |
Phew! I'm that PP- she's 10 years older, then! Of course, I'm unlikely to look like her at 45, but I'll cling to the little I've got! Thanks. |
