| I was just at Cornell for reunion and I had forgotten how truly beautiful it is. |
Ithaca is gorges! I always loved the campus and how it overlooks Lake Cayuga providing for a lovely setting, especially in the fall. |
Many college towns, particularly in the South, have very much higher crime rates than NE cities. Part of this is due to the high rate of sexual assault, but lots of them are just rough places. Gainesville Florida, Tuscaloosa Alabama, and Athens Georgia for example, have surprisingly high rates of violent crime. |
We loved VT. The trip down in the spring and fall is absolutely gorgeous and the campus is lovely - it's a large school but the actual campus is compact and walkable. The little town of Blacksburg is very quaint and cute and directly adjacent to campus. |
And many are trying to tear down or reface buildings they built in the 1960s and 1970s. |
| Duke is amazing! The Sarah Duke gardens are off the charts no other college can match it. Plus a highly regarded 18 hole Golf course with 2 high end hotels on campus. Duke is our tops nothing close. |

Yale - most impressive individual buildings
Princeton - most impressive campus as a whole Cornell - most impressive natural setting |
A lot of colleges have golf courses, but I don't think the actual campus should based on that. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/greatest-college-golf-courses-america-top-25 |
| Princeton is eh now, the modern buildings are horrendous. |
Agree. Hood is prettier than a lot of the schools being mentioned here. |
| No college has anything close to the Duke gardens. Phenomenal! |
| Virginia Tech’s campus is beautiful. It’s a large campus, but feels cohesive with the use of Hokie stone for buildings. The central drillfield is a lovely open space and the mountains in the distance are my vision of the perfect campus. |
It's super depressing to be isolated there for 4 years though. |
Yawn. |
Duke has the most annoying boosters. |
