Doesn’t matter. Surveys are for show. Reid will do what Reid wants to do.

Well she will do nothing and this is something I can actually agree with her on.

Good, I’m glad they’re putting the brakes on this at least temporarily.

This makes me angry. Getting everyone excited for change or worked up and nothing is going to be done again. We were originally promised changes for this school year and they already punted. Now they are punting again. Reid and the school board are total losers.

Its because all the options are terrible and the options that would be good cost too much money for FCPS' current budget. They told us as much last year but parents kept pushing for start time changes so they threw up the only two options that are feasible and asked people which one they disliked the least.

They should never have sent out that survey. They could have just said that the options for change were not viable under the current budget restraints.

Suggesting that elementary kids could start at 9:50 was educationally unsound under any circumstances.

What a waste of time and energy.

+1. Doing nothing on this one will be a win for Reid. But - they still shouldn’t make results public before the survey has closed. Tell me my input doesn’t matter without telling me my input doesn’t matter.

She's not smart enough to have planned this, right? To have brought this up, hyped it up, and then expected to look good doing nothing?

Because if she's that smart, she should use it for better things, like figuring out how to actually educate the children.

Right? Sending the survey and tabulating the results all takes time that we are paying for. If it's pointless then why are we still spending the money under the current budget restraints?

Can’t believe they paid yet more $ for this survey and even more $ to make a spreadsheet of results. Would love yo know just the $ spent on the surveys alone. It’s like FCPS keeps putting them out to “engage” the parents the same way you might give candy to a little kid to distract them

Reading this slide deck reaffirms my belief that they survey was a tool to allow FCPS to say no changes for now.

Almost no parents, including most middle school parents, want the schedule changed

Tldr. What did they decide?

100% but this punt makes sense.

The changes are either not good or minor to be worth it - agree on keeping as is until budgets improve.

When will the school board be discussing this updates? Is the school time vote at same time as boundary vote or earlier?

It sounds like they will punt down the road (fine by me).
