Did you read the post incorrectly? It said "If a long ball does happen it is usually met by a reprimand by the coach". |
| You can take the Girls away from NVA but you can’t take the NVA out of girls at this point… |
| FVU is on their last legs at this point. That program will not survive much longer, even though they partnered with every below average club in the area to try and survive |
| This narrative amuses me. So who gets the ECNL badge wihen the rest of the NoVa clubs are GA or GAspire already? As long as ECNL exsists FVU is fine. Are you the same nut job saying ECNL is dead in two years then? Know what you are saying troll |
Yes, I am the one that said that FVU is dead in 2 years (and I'm being generous). You know what else will be dead in 2 years --> your marriage! Because you are a moron and your poor spouse can't put up with you for too much longer. |
| WTF...? Nutjob confirmed |
Ah, my bad, you are right. It has been a while since I have seen an MV team play. When the other coaches take over a team from him they quickly turn that around though. You can’t tarnish all of FVU with MV’s bad coaching. |
| From this board you would think that the measure of quality youth coaching is only about style of play and possession=good and direct=bad. No discussion of how training sessions are organized, how team chemistry is built, how the coach provides feedback to the kids, etc. I know there probably aren't a lot of Ted Lassos out in the DMV, but there is more to coaching than just game day tactics and how many league games your kids win. I'm guessing that people who are looking for info on coaches at this board are also looking for that kind of assessment. Some of the coaches who are trashed the most on this board are actually really good at doing those other things that matter. (and I'm a parent, not a coach, FWIW). |
Did you? It is NOT corrected, it is encouraged by this particular coach. Keep up. |
MV is notorious for encouraging kickball NOT possession play. Not sure where you've been. |
It all depends on the boys side. The girls are fine. 2013 are really good, 2012 did well. 2011 had a bit of a shake up but still plenty of quality. Big indicator will be what the local 2014G do next year. Do they switch to FVU or stay with their current club. |
| FVU should make a concerted effort this year to scout 2014s at their many member RL clubs for talent to recruit to the NL team. Or set up some sort of talent ID program with referrals from coaches at the feeder clubs. |
They won’t recruit from member clubs who unfortunately aren’t strong on the girls side. Just look at the 2013 recruits. Mostly mclean |
2013 McLean was one of the best teams in the entire AG. Obviously, they will be over represented. |
They recruited an entire 2013 team for this year! Duh. |
