What's the latest trend in Bedroom furniture?

Anonymous
I am done with our sleigh bed and accompanying dresser and chest of drawers with one of those big armoires that could hold the pre-flat screen t.v.s. Since we are essentially ditching everything, we can switch up style. We are in our 40s and have no interest in a low platform bed, but are the fabric headboards still in style? We would probably go for something a little higher end than Pottery Barn/Restoration Hardware. But aren't in the designer price range either. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I also would love to ditch our sleigh bed too. What was I thinking?

Fabric headboards = dust mites

Don't buy a furniture set. Maybe a bed and matching dressers, but use different furniture for night stands, tv, etc. Check out Houzz for inspiration.

Sleigh beds always reminded me of coffins, for some reason. Never understood the trend.

LOVE the fabric headboards!

Dust mites? HOW dirty is your house??!!

Everyone has dust mites. I wouldn't get a fabric headboard, either.

Allergy doctor says no fabric headboards.

Pp is correct. You can't clean or dust a fabric headboard. Everyone has dust mites...that's why you wash your bedding and replace pillows regularly. Can't do that with a fabric headboard.

I have an upholstered bed and love it. It gets vacuumed and I use a tape roller on it to keep it dust free. Works well.

They are huge. I wish I had something more minimalist, sleeker.
