Frozen is kind of overrated....

I don't see the major appeal with "Let it go". I mean i get that in our world the words can mean to let your true self shine through and don't put on a facade for show BUT.... in the movie it was basically Elsa's "becoming an antagonist" song.

"Best since Lion King" really? It was a bit predictable.

WDYT?

Have you not noticed that the vast majority of kids' movies suck out loud? At least this was decent.

I thought the movie was cute but I have no big urge to see it again. HATE the Let it Go song. Way over rated. I like the Fixer Upper song and the Summer song way better. Most kids movies have a little something for the adults but they're not exactly high art.

Clearly you are uncultured swine and good film is beyond you. You are past our help.

I still like Tangled better.

It's a princess cartoon movie. I think your expectations are too high. Frozen was excellent for the genre.

OP, try not to over think it. It's a kids movie. But, I was pleasantly surprised how good it was considering it was Disney. I like the song, 'let it go'. Frozen is no more overrated than the Lion King, IMO.

I do think it was one of the best in it's genre as well. The songs are catchy, the characters are well developed.

i know it is stupid, but the song brings tears to my eyes every time i hear it. I can't help it!!!

+1...."Tangled" had better flow whereas "Frozen" felt a bit clunky in parts.

Also, while Idina Menzel is very talented, I feel she was a bit miscast. I don't know who would have been better suited as Elsa's singing and speaking voice but, for me, Idina just didn't work. In contrast, Donna Murphy was a stroke of casting genius as Mother Gothel in "Tangled".

I liked the fact that the true love that could break the spell was her sister and not some dude. For that reason alone, I give it an A+.

Let it goooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

NP. but that's exactly why i hated it - the sister "true love" option didn't fit with the rest of the "girl needs boy" theme of the movie, and not (to me) in a "what a great surprise ending" kind of way. we watched aliens vs. monsters last night (were feeling desperate) and i thought it was a much better "girl power" movie than frozen. fwiw.

Also liked Tangled better. DD is six and liked it but wasn't/isn't obsessed like many her age, and I don't think she even remembers the songs.

Blasphemer!

Sorry, channeling my two-year-old...

I hadn't heard Idina's voice since her Rent days - it's awful.
