Does anyone like Curriculum 2.0?

Umm..almost every preschool we saw taught letters, numbers, and beginning reading to 3 and 4 year olds. There is nothing unique or revolutionary about this.

What. specifically, is age-inappropriate about the 2.0 kindergarten curriculum? You can find it here. Look on pp. 3-6 (as page numbers; pp. 5-8 of the document). Please be specific.

The argument that there is nothing they can do about it is plain wrong. MCPS could re-instate acceleration for math. MCPS could change the grading system. There is nothing in Common Core that states students can't achieve beyond the lowest bar.

Unless the Red Tsar changes his mind. Otherwise, his political commissars (mostly, vice-principals who are eager to get promoted) keep closely monitoring their subordinates for any rebellion.
