Do elementary counselors follow a set curriculum?

| Just curious if the counselors have MCPS approved lesson plans or if they can just do whatever they want. Our counselor seems to show a lot of youtube clips and other seemingly non-vetted material. Does this happen at other elementary schools? |

| Yikes- no! I was a PWCS counselor. We had a curriculum but I also created lessons based on the needs of the school. I NEVER showed YouTube clips though. All videos and books were approved by the principal. If I thought a resource (not in the school) would be helpful I asked the principal. |
