Just wanted a little support from the moms here. I took my husband to the hospital to have surgery this AM and now I wish I stayed with him and didn't come to work. But since all I'd be doing is sitting in the waiting room, I figured better to work and save my leave than sit there doing nothing for hours. Now I can't concentrate on work and am anxiously awaiting a call from his doc post surgery. My kids are being watched all days, so no worries there, but now I wish I were at the hospital, but I think I'd be going even more nuts there.
Please tell me I'm not freaking out. |
You've put in a half-day, so why don't you take the rest of the day off and head to the hospital? I'm sure your husband would like to see you when he wakes from surgery, and you'll feel better being with him. |
I agree with the PP, sometimes you have to do what makes you feel better and not worry too much about your leave.
I'm assuming it wasn't a huge surgery, but all surgery is scary. |
Do you have an understanding boss/workplace? If so, I'd go, like other posters recommended.
Hope all is well! |
Thanks all, much appreciated. Husband is doing well and should be able to come home on Friday, although mobility will be an issue, but we'll deal. |
