Would an ice cream cake last for a bounce house party if the venue can't put it in the fridge?

I ordered an ice cream cake for my child's party at a bounce house party. I just found out that they don't have room if their freezer.

Do you think an ice cream cake could last about 1.5 hrs in a cooler full of ice?

I'm beginning to think the ice cream cake is more trouble than it is worth. My child loves ice cream much more than cake though.

I buy them for my son's bday from Baskin Robbins and we don't have room for it in our tiny freezer. It sits out for a good 2 hrs and it is ready to be cut easily.

It will be perfectly fine in a cooler for 1.5 hours. Layer Ice below and above the cake box.

In fact, sometimes the cake is so frozen that it is difficult to cut, even when it is been out for some time. Take a really good knife to hack at it.

Love icecream cake - even if it is drippy.

Another advice? Take a picture of the cake before putting in the cooler - so that even if it drips a bit, you still have your picture.

Happy birthday to your DC!

They have to be out of the freezer for a good two hours in order to be soft enough to cut.

They always take forever to thaw enough to cut, so it should be fine (unless you need to pick it up way before the party or have a really long drive).

I'd think regular ice would be plenty-a good compromise between letting it soften and not letting it completely melt. If you're really worried you can probably buy some dry ice to put in the cooler to keep it extra cold. Just make sure it's food grade.

I've never left an ice cream cake out for more than 20 minutes prior to cutting. And we get Ice cream cakes for every family bday - 7-9 a year. I would attempt to keep it out for 1.5 hours. Packed in dry ice, maybe.

No, I own on of those type of party businesses and we don't allow ice cream cake at all. We don't have room in the freezer and it will not stay cold enough in a a cooler. The cake will melt (most do not state to leave out more than 15 minutes before cutting), since the top & bottom have melted but the middle is still hard it is difficult to cut and won't resemble anything appetizing by the time it gets on the plate, it will get all over the kids clothes because it is a melted mess, after you've served what you need it will be sitting there melting all over the table, and you will have to throw the rest away. If you are able to figure out some way to keep it cold enough, chances are good it will be too hard to cut and eat when the time comes.
