If you've finished watching House of Cards Season 2 (spoiler alert)

What was the most shocking scene for you?

For me, it was Frances grooming his SS agent for sex by letting him see him watch porn, and then Claire setting it up.

A window into such a complicated and strange marriage.

Oh my gosh, I hadn't connected the porn scene to the threesome. That sneaky bastard!

For me, the most shocking scene was probably Zoe's death.

Character development I'm most looking forward to seeing next semester: Rachel.

Will the go into hiding and try to just disappear? Will she go into hiding but work in cahoots with the hacker guy, and propel the demise of the Underwoods? So many possibilities!

I was also shocked when Rachel bludgeoned Doug Stamper to death in the woods.. definitely wasn't expecting that.

I don'tknow that it was even a threesome! I got the impression that she got the SS agent drunk, kissed him to open the door, and then handed him over to Frank.

Zoe's death for me. I'm still sad about Doug. I liked him. I'm not a Rachel fan at all.

I think it was a threesome.

I had high hopes for Stamper there for awhile. He was starting to develop a conscious, and they showed a very human side of him, up until the meeting with Frances where Stamper vowed to revert to his old self.

What do you think he was planning to do with Rachel that night? Part of me believes he wasn't going to kill her because he loves her, but... she said all those hurtful things to him. I dunno.

I also think it wasn't a threesome, it was a handoff.

Most shocking scene for both DH and I was the gratuitous scene of the Chinese billionaire with the bag over his head. Totally not relevant; just there to shock. That irritated both of us because the show is good enough that they don't need to do go through a checklist of deviant behaviors just to keep us entertained.

Also since they didn't do anything with the SS agent threesome (or handoff)--everyone acted like it didn't happen--I feel it was a little phony. I think the SS agent would be very freaked out the next day. So they should have made him more drunk--drunk enough so you could infer that he didn't remember.

I liked Doug Stamper--thought he was a great complex character (wrote about it in another post--there's two other posts that went around)--and am very bummed that he's dead.

was it gay porn that Frank was watching?

Agree about Zoe's death being most shocking but I think that's because by the time the other developments happen you have suspended all disbelief. All the other things were basically eye-rolls.

I thought the bag-on-head was going to set up some bringing him down later, but it really was just gratuitous wasn't it?

I agree with the bolded. I, too, thought the bag-on-head would set up something for letter, but no. Same with the threesome. It added nothing to the plot or character development, really.

Agree about the bag on head, but I think the threesome/handoff was important. it really confirmed the nature of their marriage that was hinted at when Frank went back to his old school. It is completely a marriage of ambition. And Claire is starting to crack from the loneliness.

What? Maybe I didn't finish watching the series or fell asleep. When did that happen?

Speaking of Rachel, why didn't they just kill her off? I'm a little hazy on her plot line, so I'm sure a reason was given not to get rid of her.

I'm slightly confused about the hacker guy and how much he knows.

I was hoping Claire would get pregnant. Was her only reason for visiting the fertility clinic to see what meds that other woman was on?

Also agree about the bag on the head scene. Really? Was that necessary?

I think Claire is going to end up in a situation to out-maneuver Frank. I think Frank goes down and Claire ends up victorious.

She knows too much. She's the glue that ties Frank to a murder.

And was not happy about Doug Stamper -- the scene with the knife was so "fake" and I couldn't believe she would literally knock him off with a rock.
