I don't see that happening.

There are a lot of NDAs, I'm sure.

She has no leverage.

Her leverage is fighting for custody in court and ignoring NDAs. They are very limited in how hard they can go after the mother of the future king

I think you may be surprised.

They have a tremendous amount of leverage, including financial. Her family's business recently declared bankruptcy.

Why would you assume George would go to Eton? King Charles did not go there.

Only because Philip put his foot down. And it appears William is not willing to budge on this, if reports are true.

She is not going to be able to go to a British court to get custody of the heir to the British monarchy. The heir belongs to the monarchy.
That’s not how things work.
Especially when it’s codified that the monarch is above the law.

She has no rights.

I agree.

In the peasant or even DCUM world, it’s like dating a guy whose family has a beach house and spend every Fourth of July there, marrying, then being mad you’ll be expected at the beach in July.

+1 to be expected they would go to boarding school

I think the fact that she signed up for this suggests the Eton theory is wrong. Like someone 100 pages back stated, she seems like she was build in a lab for this life. No way would she throw such a public fit about something totally expected, no matter how displeased she was about it.

She’s allowed to change her mind.

Yeah she's not going to bring so much negative coverage to her family over a choice of school.

Or, she’s chosen to die on that hill. She doesn’t want her son to follow the path now she realizes it’s a bad bad path.

See, I think this could be it. She realizes that unless she stands up for this one thing, she'll lose any semblance of a voice in anything. There's no must when it comes to the education of her son. He has the resources to do anything so why not keep all doors open.

Not really. They’ve already started tarnishing her image. With the leaked stories and all.

She’s allowed to change her mind.

And she didn’t have a little boy of her own then or realize the potential abuses at a boarding school.

She had issues at boarding school herself. So, not naive.

She has no leverage if he wants her out. The tone of her coverage has markedly changed, not a coincidence. He has stopped referring to her at appearances. He has used his solo letterhead. She was thrown under the bus re: the photo that in all likelihood was a set up. She had nothing to do with it and likely does not have access to their social media accounts. It was a dig at her prior competent/asset image and a dig at the hobby she is well known for. Stories painting her as volatile and throwing things started to run last year, portraying them as "equally bad."

Whether it is about a 3rd party or not remains to be seen. He is not even faking being a doting, protective husband at this point.

If there are differences over the kids going forward, he holds the trump cards, especially as her family's wealth has tanked.

All the cries that they can't get divorced when CHARLES is divorced as silly.

This is my line of thinking. As most marital arguments, it's just a symptom of a bigger issue. In this case they aren't on the same page anymore. They had an easy way out by just admitting it was mistake from their staff office. Putting it on Kate sent a nasty message.

My sense is that Charles was kinder and more deferential to Diana re: the children than William will be (in part due to trauma/damage from Diana's mental illness during his childhood, William is not going to share power this round). It's more than the marriage seeming broken, it's that the "machine" is now tarnishing her image actively, despite it being a time when the opposite would be expected by the public out of basic decency while they are claiming she is quite "ill." In fact, she may be.

It's pretty extraordinary, but if you look back there have been more negative stories placed about her for a year or so, very "both sides" (linked upthread or Google) but now she is "unstable" etc. and "wanting out" when she may be being pushed out. She has no power in the situation that I can see. William's lifelong anger may have found a new target. He seems unwilling to just live apart and fake it for PR anymore.

It seems like William and KP's handling Katw was a big shock for a lot of royal journalists too. As someone (maybe you?) said there's been a noticeable shift in the narrative considering Kate now. They aren't looking out for her and now okay with actively harming her image. Not collaborating might be the only way she's able to hold some control.

Actively harming her image? Look at what the dailymail just published:

I just keep thinking about how when they took Diana’s title away, young William said he would give it back to her when he’s King. And then she died.

She lives in a country that is about the most generous to women in divorces in the world and her sister is a billionaire. The family will be fine. Even if they somehow tried to leave her with nothing, her story would sell

It went from "Kate only one who can manage William's angry outbursts" to "She throws things too!" to "She is unstable!" in fairly short order.

Not sure that "collaborating" or not is an option for her. I think she may be out. The photo mess was likely a set up from the start.

Oh geez. Prince William is saying, she's recovering and will back after Easter and leave her in peace. And you are reading into that that the divorce is almost final?

QEII was the most popular of them. Now that she's dead, Kate is more popular and sympathetic than William. It will be fun seeing a modern tabloid press turn on the BRF

Someone needs to say it, it has been pretty shocking. Kate Middleton has been 'thrown under a bus' by 'disgraceful' Kensington officials and 'ungentlemanly' Prince William - who let her take blame for Mother's Day photo blunder, Richard Eden tells Palace Confidential

I think it is most likely that the photogate was a set up as part of the media campaign to damage her image, along with the solo letterhead and not mentioning her at events anymore. It makes William look callous and cold, but they must not care or feel a plot twist yet to come will vindicate his approach?

It seems like William and KP's handling Katw was a big shock for a lot of royal journalists too. As someone (maybe you?) said there's been a noticeable shift in the narrative considering Kate now. They aren't looking out for her and now okay with actively harming her image. Not collaborating might be the only way she's able to hold some control.

That is not ALL that has been happening.

Time will tell.
