I'm at 32 weeks but having strong Braxton Hicks contractions every 20 minutes. I had BH with my daughter but never this frequently. Is this worth calling the doctor after hours? |
Yes. Your doc may want to put you on something to calm the BH before they turn into real labor. |
ditto pp. the doctor should know if you're getting them >4x/hr. no reason not to be ultra conservative on this one. |
Thank you! I will call the doctor now. |
FYI I am 36w and have been having tons of BH the past few weeks. I never had them at all with my first child so it periodically freaks me out. My OB was totally dismissive - said that the only important indicator is whether they become more intense and painful. He also encouraged me to have a glass of champagne for NYE since alcohol relaxes the muscles and will mitigate the BH contractions. |
I asked my dr. about BH contractions just yesterday... She said when they happen, to hydrate, rest, and/or change positions. If they still don't stop and happening more than 4 per hour, it's definitely worth a call to the dr. |
