I'm confused by the 8 week commitment. I think they want 3 week minimum. My kids did it last year. I have mixed feelings about it. While it was an acceptable camp, it was far for us and for our younger child didn't offer alot of benefit over a local in town camp like somerset camp (the long day is too much with the bus ride). I thought it was a lot of kids with young inexperienced counselors. Some great, mostly mediocre (as most of these camps are). Supervision and communication were very good though and i appreciated that.
Most of these camps seem to lack real enthusiam for the kids. At one camp (not this one!) i swear the counselor was completely disappointed that yet another kid showed up.
Barrie offers canoeing and horseback riding and have a small pool onsite which is all great.
