I recently went gluten free (basically) and WOW I am noticing a difference in the way I feel. I am, however, having trouble finding good substitutes that area actually healthy- especially in the arena of snacks (one thing I've found I like are kind bars- but I can only eat so many nuts a day).
What do you like (especially that you can order online- links, please!) |

Do you need to buy packaged stuff? Popcorn? Rice cake with peanut butter? Apples with peanut butter? Hummus and carrots? Etc.
GF granola is good if you need to keep up the calories and are short on time. |
| ATK (America's Test Kitchen) has a great gluten free cookbook. Definitely check it out! |

Are you looking for shelf-stable portable snacks to throw in your purse or desk drawer?
Nuts and dried fruits. Mix it up yourself and put in snack sized ziplocs. Lara bars are yummy and very portable. High in natural sugars though. Refrigerated items: Cheese with rice crackers (Blue Diamond makes some) Yogurt. Peanut butter with apples or celery. Celery w cream cheese. Hummus with any veggie. Not so healthy but yummy: Corn chips with salsa Potato chips with french onion dip (there's a Kosher one that is GF, Lipton's is NOT) Popcorn |
| I love the Bare Fruit apple chips |

Yogurt, hard boiled eggs, vegetables, baba ganoush, hummus, olives, cheese, fruit.
I make these "two-ingredient" cookies. Mash two ripe bananas and add a cup of quick oats. Then add whatever you like--I use coconut, nuts, cinnamon, vanilla and salt. Scoop into 16 cookies and bake at 350 for 15 minutes. |
