Recommendation for Babysitting Class

My teenaged daughter is interested in attending a babysitting class so she can get certified and start babysitting neighborhood kids. Any recommendations for courses? I heard there was one at Suburban.

| There is also one at the Silver Spring branch of the American Red Cross. They are all day on Saturdays. The next one is the 15th of Feb. Good luck. |

Shady Grove Adventist has them too
What I don't understand us that it is for 11-15yr olds. Don't you legally have to be 13 to babysit, even siblings? My daughter is 12 and I wasn't sure if I should have her take the class now or later. |

I know a couple of my child's friends (12-13 years old) have done the Red Cross's one-day babysitting course and they and their parents felt it was worthwhile. These are given in various locations so there might be one near you. Look at the Red Cross's national capital region web site and search "babysitting."
