Weird take and I think you have it totally backwards. Do you not know that, if elected, Trump has threatened to pull the broadcast licenses for NBC, CBS and anyone else who dared to fact check him or question his lies, that he has threatened to weaponize government to go after not only opposition politicians, but also comedians like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert and others who dare to stand up to him. Trump's view of 1A free speech is far more chilling and disturbing than Harris/Walz's.

As for Walz and his views, he is far closer to the truth. 1A has NEVER given people blanket protection to say whatever they like, it does not protect you to scream "FIRE" in a crowded theater or make statements that cause a clear and present danger to the public (Oliver Wendell Holmes in Schenck v. United States), it does cover you if you threaten to harm or kill people (terroristic threat statutes in most US jurisdictions) and so on. Also, Walz was in China during the general time period of Tiananmen to see and hear for himself firsthand the political climate and the sentiment of the people vs. the regime, which gives him far deeper insights than 99.5% of other Americans would never have.

Agreed. Tim Walz is a lovely person. Harris is kind and empathetic too. Trump and Vance are just horrid. The latest NYT interview with Vance was jaw dropping.
