Looking for delicious, easy-to-bake holiday cookies with inexpensive ingredients. I am baking-challenged.
No coconut, please

| Betty Crocker Toffee Squares. No toffee in them, they're basically a brown sugar bar with chocolate on top (and nuts optionally) but the combined taste is vaguely toffeeish. I love these with chopped pecans on top! |

Cocoa Snowflakes…these are super easy:

Really? I tried those once and they were very difficult for me. And I consider myself a fairly decent baker. OP, there's this thread with ideas: http://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/342864.page |

These mint chocolate chip cookies are DELICIOUS and easy to make: http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/mint-chocolate-chip-cookies/22bebeda-ea36-441a-9909-ae78409d6da6
I made a batch this weekend and we inhaled them. |
| I hope the poster comes back who shared a chocolate cookie recipe with an Andes mint melted on top. Looked luscious. |
They were these http://handmadeandhomemade.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-cookie-parade-marvelous.html I tried them tonight (NP) and while they are good, they are very, very rich. I need some milk when eating them. Also made these: http://www.washingtonpost.com/pb/recipes/salty-chocolate-nutella-thumbprints/12462/ I actually had to add a little water to each recipe -- the dough wasn't forming properly. Must be doing something wrong.

NP here. I just made these tonight, and YUM! The only problem is that they are small so it's too easy to eat too many. I loved how easy they were to make: one pot, two bowls, and a wooden spoon. No mixer required!
