Best Italian restaurant with homemade pasta in Fairfax City???

My good friends from college are coming to visit over the holidays from NY.
They are Italian descent- any good restaurants in Fairfax-FFX City that have good homemade pasta?

If they are Italian, why would you necessarily take them to am Italian restaurant? Why not take them to something different, like Thai?

She said Italian descent, not from Italy...

If they are coming from NYC, do NOT take them to an Italian restaurant in Fairfax. It will pale in comparison to the Italian restaurants in the tristate area.

BELLISSIMO Restaurant! We were there for the first time last month with another couple and the food
was the best we have had in ages. Try any of the raviolis- especially the veal or lobster ravioli. A bit upscale but worth it. Can't go wrong at this restaurant.

I agree- Bellissimo Restaurant- yes. We just moved from NYC about two months ago and this place is wonderful. I've already told all of my co-workers about it. Food great- love the murals.

Is Dolce fairly kid friendly, if you have well behaved kids? What about Piero's in Herndon or Fairfax? Is the food decent? The have good reviews, but some of them seem written by similar people which makes me a little leary.

Did not enjoy our meal at Peiro's. Full disclosure is we haven't been back since so it may have been a bad day there.
