I am a little upset right now. I am 5dp5dt and I have thankfully and happily gotten a positive HPT on FRER and Clear Blue Easy digital. My beta was scheduled for Friday 11/29. That seemed late to me to begin with as its 12dp12dt. I'm out of state and my monitoring clinic is closed that day. I begged my nurse today to bump up the order to Wednesday and they're absolutely refusing. Said it has to be 12/2 now which seems excruciating to wait that long.
Any suggestions? I don't have an OB down here yet as I just moved last month. |
| Is there a Labcorp or a Quest Diagnostics in your area that is open on Friday? When I cycled remotely I was able to get betas done at a Quest lab. The RE's office would put "STAT" on the order so they'd get same day results, and I made sure to go in right when they opened in the morning. |
| SG usually only does the first beta at 13dp5dt, so waiting until 15dp5dt does seem excruciatingly cruel. Can you have SG fax the order to a LabCorp or Quest to get your blood drawn there that day instead? My only other idea is to ask your GP to order an HCG blood test. |
| OP here - I called Quest today to see if they would be open and they aren't open, but I can try labcorp. That's a good idea! I really was surprised they wouldn't bump it up to Wednesday. I swear this changed, my first IVF cycle at SG was a 3dt with my beta 11 days later. |
|
My 3dt cycles were always 15dp3dt except when it fell on the 4th of July and I was able to get one on 14dp3dt. I will say that waiting with a + HPT was a lot easier than waiting after seeing stark white tests.
Congrats and HH9 to you! |
| Depending on where you live, you may be able to use privatemdlabs.com to order your own beta on Wednesday. Their services aren't legal in all states, but it might work for you. |
How incredibly crazy would it be for me to do this? They have locations by me. |
| Not crazy at all. Do it and come back to post so we know how the service is and what your numbers were! Congrats! |
| My clinic wouldn't schedule until 13 days after transfer, but I understand that this is standard - why they call it the "two week wait." |
|
Good luck! CFA let me go right in when this happened and getting the numbers was such a relief! Also, Reiter, Hill and Johnson have walk in betas. You could just be a new patient and head in, I believe. Give them a ring on Monday!

Here is a whole thread on a surrogate message board with guidance on getting an early beta. You must make sure it is quantitative vs qualitative... You want a number vs a yes you are pregnant.

I was able to bump my beta from 13dp5dt to 12dp5dt because we were leaving on vacation. Now I'm calling all over Puerto Rico to get betas lined up for Monday and Wednesday because the clinic who told me on the phone they would do it told me no once I arrived on Friday and stopped in to confirm.
I know that doesn't help you OP, but I just wanted to say I'm sorry. All this calling around to get tests when you are out of town sucks. |
| OP here - my FRERs are getting darker, the test line is almost as dark as the control line now so that's keeping me sane. I also made the mistake of getting that new clear blue easy with the weeks indicator. I'm trying to figure out if that will be enough to get me through or if I should go for the self ordering blood test above. I'm showing 1-2 weeks on the clear blue easy. I'm assuming that should change in the next few days. |
I'm the poster in PR - I also got 1-2 weeks on that test at 10dp5dt and got a 260 on my first beta 2 days later. In the package there is a chart for what the weeks mean. That mean 1-2 weeks from ovulation - the Dr will count it as 3-4 weeks. |
Thanks! GL finding a place to get your betas done and congrats on your first one! It's so exciting but nerve wracking. |
