is anyone worried about their kid finding their spouse in college?

I hope my kids find great life-long friends in college. If one becomes a spouse, then great, but no pressure at all to find someone when they're so young.

This is why ivy/t15 private is so important! Quality friends with the right intelligence level and great spouse potential

You clearly haven’t spent much time at Ivy’s recently. The only thing they’re likely to find there is an SSRI addiction and some unfortunate political proclivities.

Have them start saving for IVF now.

My kid just graduated and I never
had a thought about this.

How about just dating in college? Doesn’t seem like any of that happening and it saddens my DD who would like to date.

Ivies these days are 50% kids on full aid and 50% Asian (with some overlap between the two). Frankly, that dating pool isn't highly desirable at all for those looking to "marry well."

So Asians aren't/or can't be part of a dating pool for those who want to "marry well?"

“Great spouse potential”

Sure - if you don’t mind a robotic, emotionless son-in-law who’s intelligence is limited to book-smarts only, and does not have a creative thought in his head.

^some truth to this, but for my DC at HYP, there still is a pretty good pool of options. I am including wasians and asians, of course.

To answer the OP’s question: No, I’m not worried about my kid going to a frat party & running into my wife doing shots in the basement.

That’s OK; their parents likely don’t consider your kids to be part of the pool to “marry well” either.

Unfortunately, this is the situation in which our daughters find themselves presently.

Found my future surgeon wife during college. Good long term investment after 13 years of post graduate education (/s).

So happy we met 20+ years ago, but you cannot engineer this! She actually went to a different school and we met through a mutual friend on a random weekend visit.

I blame Trump for letting all these Asians flood HYPSM. This horrible situation only happened because Trump appointed a conservative majority to the supreme court.

These conservatives held we cannot selectively lower admissions standards for certain under-represented minorities / BIPOCS , based on their skin color.

Result: far too many Asians getting into HYPSM on their merit, intelligence, and achievements alone.

Can’t wait until Trump is gone and we can begin to fix this situation.
