Preschool recommendtion for 3year old with sensory processing issues

Do you know of any good preschool for toddlers with sensory processing disorders that could have an opening now or soon? My son (3 years old) does not appear to have any other condition associated with SPD. The preschool he is currently attending seems to be putting a lot of pressure for us to leave. At this point, we want to move on, and do the best for our son (best possible OT, and find a nurturing preschool). I will greatly appreciate any recommendation for a preschool (We live in Montgomery County). Thanks a lot.

So sorry to hear that. If you were in DC, I'd tell you to call Bridges PCS right away (www.bridgespcs.org) but I don't know anything about MoCo.

Best of luck to you and your family, especially your son.

Thanks for the recommendation. I checked the website but we are not eligible because we are not DC residents. Will keep looking, asking and staying strong for him. Thank you very much again.

OK, so not a preschool with any special ed focus, but Georgetown Hill @ Woodley Gardens is nurturing, individualized and has integrated kids with special needs...

Saint Columba's Nursery School. It is in DC but the school reserves spots for children with special needs, has a expert on staff, and the teachers are VERY good!

Appleseed Option in Bethesda may be a good fit. Their web site is http://www.applems.com/appleseed.html

I would check out St. Catherine's. I do not know where you live, however.

DIR Support Services, in Bethesda, has a very knoweldgeable staff, however and may be able to refer you to schools sensitive to children with regulatory disorders.

Also, the Jenny Waelder Hall school in NW DC. It's a preschool for kids with sensory issues and other special needs, and parents get a lot of support.

Is the sensory processing played out with some behavioral issues? If so, Apple Seed Option will not take kids who have behavior associated concerns.

Maddux school in Potomac is excellent for this issue.

My neighbor's son was in a MCPS program at Beall Elem in Rockville (although the county sent a bus to her house). I don't know the details, but I think it was where kids go when they "graduate" from the Infants and Toddlers program. Sorry .. wish I knew more. Good Luck.

What would be, for example, behavior associated concerns? Is it not staying sitting at circle time? or not being that engaged in the group activity? If you can give some examples, that would help. Thanls a lot.
