| I love the look and smell of fresh/live wreaths but the costs can really add up. What do you think about the artificial ones? Do you think they're tacky? |
| They can be beautiful to. Go for it! Enjoy the Season. |
| I use a real one on the front door and faux ones elsewhere. I like having a real one on the front door since it's right at eye level and I see it multiple times a day. |
What do you spend on your real one? |
I would probably skip wreaths altogether if artificial wreaths were the only option. But I know I'm in the minority.
|
| can you cut down on the number and just get one or two real ones? |
+1 I hang real ones on the front doors and fake ones on the windows of the house (outdoor) and also on the French doors in the kitchen (hung inside) |
Not sure. I usually get a fundraiser one (high school crew team sells them) so part is a donation. I think they are maybe $25? Otherwise we get them at butlers for about $18? The crew ones are decorated. |
| I use a real one in front. I use a couple of nonreal ones inside. But the trick, imo, is not to pretend: the ones inside are gilded / gold leaves and silver leaves. Obviously not real and they don't pretend to be. And the gilded effect is exactly what I want for those inside areas. |
| In this area, with weather that can get warm, faux is fine, at our Vermont place, we use real and it is so cool/cold that it lasts well into February. |
| I use a fake one on the front door, and it looks great! |
| I think it is fine. |
| You can get a fresh wreath from Costco for $17! At least, that's what they've cost in past years. I haven't priced them yet for this season. |
| I use a fake one on the front door because I can't stand having all those needles falling into our front hall. |
| I use a faux one. It is clearly fake - color is not found in nature. I got it for white Elephant gift exchange one year and I love it. It is festive and tacky at the same time. |
