Not sure why people are acting like this game is a toss up. YT is going to win on Tuesday. The excuses from the doubters should be entertaining afterward.

Tuesday:
Madison @ Yorktown (6D Region Championship)

Friday: Class 6 State Quarterfinals
A1 (Cosby) vs C2
B1 (Indy) vs D2
C1 vs A2 (Thomas Dale)
D1 vs B2 (Battlefield)

Again, super wierd that teams play for district titles and even if you lose, you can be put back into a state playoff. Most other states and sports certainly have district titles but once that happens, only the winner of the district advances. Shrugs shoulders.

A decade or so ago Robinson lost to Oakton in the District and Region Championships, but knocked them off in the State Final in OT. Jack Rowlett with assist to Chapman Jasien

Cool ancedotal story doesn't disprove it isn't wierd and why its done.

Taking a page out of the Langley "officially listed as questionable" playbook?

I think it does EXACTLY what you say it doesn't. Teams can be state champions despite losing in the region championship which is exactly why they go to states.

Same thing happened in 2022. Madison lost the region to Yorktown then won the state

what is the point of districts then. Seems to me this is just additional participation trophies.

As I said most other states and sports have district titles actually mean something within the context of the playoffs. In other words, you win districts you move on, you don't win, you go home.

Well if you want to go down that rabbit hole . . . the only thing your entire regular season record officially does is determine your seeding for the districts.

Just to clarify: Its your district record that determines your seeding for the district playoffs. You can lose every single no-district game, go undefeated in district play and still be the #1 district team
