Bissel Dog Hair Vacuum vs. Dyson Dog Hair Vacuum

Was wondering if anyone has bought and used either? There is a HUGE difference in the price so I wanted a few opinions before I decided on one. We have two furry dogs and our current vacuums just aren't cutting it anymore. THe Dyson is over $500 and the Bissel is under $200. I don't want to assume the higher price is better. Any advice? TIA!!

We just bought the Bissel (cost issues) and it works great - not perfect but we have 4 animals so it would take a vacuum with tornado strength to be perfect. LOVE the detachable cannister for stairs and furniture.

I am in love with the Dyson. Our large dog is a mix breed and sheds alot --- more than my friends' labs and such. It works like magic. Worth EVERY PENNY without a doubt.

You know, Target clearanced the red and yellow models of Dysons right around Jan 1. Mine had two left yesterday in Chantilly. Still not cheap but down to $329 from $399 if that helps.

How does the regular Dyson compare with the Dyson for animals as far as dog hair is concerned?
