| Family is visiting from out of town and have offered to bring us (spouse, 10 yr old child, and me) out to dinner on Sat. night. They said anything but BBQ and metro accessible. We live in SS, so bonus points for close to us! One person in the party doesn't eat red meat, so a restaurant with good fish / veggies options is helpful. Not looking for a hole in the wall, something a little on the fancy side, but not out of control. They are foodies, so something interesting. Any suggestions? |

| Great idea! I went there for lunch and loved it. |
| I was going to say Ray's the Classics, but since it's mainly a steakhouse maybe not good for the no-red-meat eater. I'm sure they have at least one fish/veggie entree, but your diner may want more choices than that. |
| +1 for 8407. So good, and great wine list and cocktails, etc. If they are foodies, they will like it. |

ADDIES
|
| Jackie's, Tastee Diner, Lucy's Ethiopian..all in Downtown SS |
Addie's is awesome, but it's a bit of a walk from the metro, and probably not ideal in all the rainy weather we've been having. (The closest is probably White Flint.) Addis Ababa for Ethiopian or Crisfield for seafood might be nice. |
|
Addie's is not metro accessible. It's pretty much halfway between Grosvenor and White Flint -- too long a walk from either one. Especially in the rain.
(I mean, you could do the walk, it's not impossible. But for a family dinner out I doubt anyone wants to hoof it almost a mile on Rockville Pike.) Great restaurant, but not for OP's needs. |
Rays the classics is good, but it closed
|
It didn't close; it was sold to two employees, and is now just called "The Classics." I think it has pretty much the same menu, but I'm open to being corrected. |
You are correct. |
| Mon ami gabi in bethesda. You can make reservations and they have valet parking. |
