I am seeing Dr Metz (you can see my thread about pre-e). Generally I like her philosophy but I think it's common at GW - they seem very low-intervention in general. They do not do constant monitoring as standard, and everything you said is standard (positions, happy to do natural birth, you can have a tub if they have one available, you can shower, eat, etc.) you cannot deny the heplock if you are an OP patient, but really, I don't see how that would be a problem (to me, better to get a heplock when i know it's coming!).
I've been satisfied with my appointments so far (almost 37 weeks), never really run late, etc - make them first thing in the AM!. But, I do think she has issues with weight vs overall health of a woman. It's been an issue for me since I've had additional, likely unnecessary testing and all that.
I also never feel rushed and communication with the MyHealth program is good.
Anyone can delivery you at GW - you can request no interns, but I'm not so sure they will follow it.
