What state and/or private universities are prohibited from banning guns on campus?

Anonymous
Don't want to start a debate, just wanted to get a list of state and/or private universities that based on the laws of their state and/or politics don't ban weapons on campus. Just looking for facts, not a discussion of the merits. families can analyze facts and come to different conclusions. Facts that would be deal breakers for our family might be viewed differently by others. Focus limited to schools in the top 150 - also subjective.

You want your kid to be able to carry on campus? It's a deal-breaker if he can't carry in college? Please explain.

OP, I have no idea why you'd ask the moms who post on DCUM. You need to go ask this question on one of the NRA and gun forums that you undoubtedly belong to.

I hear the University of Mogadishu is on board with open carry.

Yup, or ask the NRA directly. I'm sure there is someone there who can help you.

LOL!

OP, when you narrow your list down to certain concealed carry states, make sure to choose the most stressful school within those states. Guns, teenagers and stress are a really good combination.

Well, that rules out Harvard, Princeton, Yale, MIT and Stanford. Probably too liberal for OP anyway.

Don't forget to add alcohol into the mix! Avoid all "dry" towns or campuses...

I think you are all misunderstanding OP. I think she doesn't want her child to attend a school that must allow guns. You've all jumped to conclusions.

I certainly wouldn't want my DC to attend a college where students are armed. This is useful information.

Why do you hate freedom?

OP, if you truly want a gun-free campus, send your kid abroad.

I think we need to wait for OP to return and tell us what she's looking for.

If she wants gun-free, then we can all chime in with "any school in Boston!" If she wants a school that allows students to carry, then that's a tougher lift for most of us.

Most private employers will not allow their employees to bring weapons to work. Private property. State school are a little different, but many state work place will not let you bring weapons either.
