3rd grade math?

Looking through the online math book for my 3rd grader -- are they *really* going to do double digit additions AGAIN? How does it work? Please tell me that there is a twist somewhere -- like "now they will work on mental math" or something. This doesn't seem in line with the curriculum for 3rd grade...

Watching my kid learn math on this curriculum is like watching a stone grow -- only I don't have that inner peace. The time to talk about adding the tens together and adding the ones together was in 1st grade!!!

Im not Familiar with the 3rd grade curriculum. It's better to look at the Program of Studies and Pacing Guide than the textbook. The text is not the curriculum and the pacing does not follow the text page by page.

pacing guide is more useful. Thank you!

I still don;t see the relevance of the online textbook. Maybe they just have great classroom manipulatives...

Thanks!

Every math unit begins with a day or two to practice previously learned concepts.

I'd love access to an online textbook...we don't even get that.

It should be on FCPS 24-7.

Not for our 2nd grader it isn't!

With our login it just comes up, but if you go to add module you should be able to find it that way too.

My child is Alex City in 3rd grade. She came home with addition Math facts to study that included 0+0.

needless to say we supplement heavily at home.

That's ridiculous.

0 is not a number, it is a place holder. My kid learned this in pre-K and still recites it!
