Sign of Republicans Lawmakers Turning on Trump

Promising.

Please remember that this is not the Nixon era.

With incredible amounts of disinformation on social media and right-wing "news" channels, polls on impeachment need to go up much higher than last time before Republican Senators vote to remove.

Republicans in the Senate know perfectly well that if Trump will pull out of Syria and leave the Kurds and suck up to Erdogan, he is likely to follow through on his other threats, like cancelling aid in Ukraine (leaving it to the Russians), pulling US troops out of South Korea (to the benefit of Kim Jung Un), etc. This f*ckup in the mideast is pretty bad, but there are others on the radar that could be many times worse and its now perfectly clear that there is no way to stop him. I think the Rs in the Senate are coming around to the idea that they may have to remove him.....or convince him to remove himself*.....before we actually tip the balance in a way we can never recover from.

*I don't think he will quit--clearly he needs stuff like this G-20 Doral deal.

This analysis is probably more accurate -- they will get rid of him not for the good of the country,m but to preserve their majority

You are out of your mind! Jennifer Rubin, who is a "never trump" and has been from day one, comes up with this and you give it credence? Republican senators will not go against Trump as long as the base is with him. This is the reality whether one likes it or not.

And her point is that polling shows that a number of vulnerable Republicans are DOWN in the polls, and some vulnerable Democrats are UP. If McConnell thinks that pulling the plug on Trump is what it takes--that the base isn't enough to save those Rs--then he absolutely will. The Senate is more important than the Presidency to the Republicans, they've shown they can block or push judges as they want.

Let me be clearer--McConnell needs one more Supreme Court judge, and whoever gets the Senate in 2020 is going to have a lot of say over who that judge is, no matter which party has the presidency.

He'll wait until the very last possible moment to do this though. It would need to be VERY CLEAR.

Doug Jones is vulnerable on the Democratic side and perhaps a couple on the Republican side. Polling at this point is meaningless.

Rubin wants Trump out and has been advocating for it for ever and a day. No one other than a few wishful Democrats would give her any credence.

Now waiting for Max Boot's "analysis" about why Trump is going to be removed!
Anonymous
Another jackass offering his "analysis". He says it is unlikely that Trump will be removed but he is "angering" the jurors!

And he gets paid for this sort of profound analysis!

I think what is far and away most important to McConnell is keeping Senate majority. If he can create a slam dunk for that, even if it sabotages the White House, future of GOP, the country...whatever, he'll do it.
Anonymous
McConnell is waiting till the deadline to file a primary challenge against vulnerable GOP senators passes. Then he’ll green light impeachment- they all want Trump gone.

He has already waited too long and people are dying because of it.
