Worst dog breeds...tried it once but never again

Our Golden Retriever is an absolute angel - calm, loving dog and people friendly doesn't bark, no accidents. She does counter surf for food.
We adore her and most goldens I have met are great family dogs - they do need training and exercise and yes they shed.

I don't think I would EVER
a golden or labradoodle. I hate how they look but more importantly don't like their temperament. The ones I have met are either hyper or agressive.
Could be a training issue but the do not have Golden temperaments/

She would have been a nightmare for someone who didn't do endurance sports! They are bred to track moose for hours, and to hold them at bay.

So often, the wrong dog is the wrong dog because it has the wrong job.

Yep! This is why beagles are so often given up or go missing/end up in shelters. People expect to be able jog or play off leash with them in the park -- not possible. Or that they will sit on the front porch with you all day. Or wait patiently while you work from 8 to 7.

If you understand beagles, they are the best dogs! So funny and loving and sweet. I was kind of terrified when we got a rescue beagle because they’re supposedly so difficult, but ours is a total joy. All dogs have quirks.

Italian greyhounds are an ancient breed. During Medieval times the Italians imported them from the Middle East. They adored the breed, and that is how they came to be known as Italian greyhounds. They are not an inbred, new, boutique breed. They are the very opposite of that - one of the oldest breeds of dog out there.

Anonymous wrote:I currently hate my Jack Russell Terrier. She will be 1 year old this week. She peed on the floor last night during the election. She runs through the house like an insane creature whenever she is out of her crate--She's out of her crate 6-8 hours a day. She gets an hour of flat out running and tussling with other dogs at the dog park every day. She never gives any warning that she needs to pee--she just pees. She is impossibly cute with a scruffy muzzle. I hate her but yeah, I am her slave.

Perhaps doesn't like spending 16 -18 hours a day in a crate?

You crate this poor dog way too much. What’s even the point?! Disgusting.

It’s hard to find a reputable breeder and they have potty issues because they are toy dog size. Ours was sweet but lots of problems.

Terriers, any kind. They are exhausting albeit adorable.

Mini schnauzers - have never met one that is not a biter. Corgis seem to share that tendency.

I love German sheps but it is so hard to find one without joint issues.

A friend has a wonderful border collie but they need land and a job, do not think it would work well in the city.

The minute a child entered the room (or even a friend who was a grown person, but unusually small in stature) they became hostile. Both dogs were raised from puppyhood by the family, and had never been mistreated by children. One of the dogs crossed the room to bite a small child who was completely ignoring the dog at the time. At the time, our vet told us that Schnauzers are known for not being good with children.

My uncle has always had them and this, 100% Snapped at and bit kids and yep, small adults, Have never known a full sized one, maybe they have a better temperament? Would NEVER have one.

Bichon Frise. I read all over the internet and they seem like good dogs. I search on the internet, "Why Bichon Frise's are the worst dogs," and stuff pop up. I look at this junk on the internet and I notice that they are actually probably good for my family. Are they actually good for my family, though???

any experiences with mountain goldendoodles?

Since someone re-posted on this thread, I drank my coffee this morning and read through the responses. I literally sold my condo because my neighbor bought a dachshund/pitbull mix that she didn't exercise. She told me she watched the show "Pitbulls and Parolees" and thought that pitbulls were misunderstood. Um, sure. 3 weeks later I had an accepted offer on my condo. And I'm never living in a condo again, but that's a topic for the Real Estate forum.

I didn't try it, but close neighbors have a husky. We got puppies at the same time. My golden was nuts, nuts, nuts at the beginning. Their husky was all like "peasant golden" to my dog. Then their dog has a muzzle for months, biting like nuts, aggressive....My golden can also be resource nuts, I am not going to lie, but that husky is some other level aggressive.

My first reaction was- that’s not a breed, that’s a mutt. Then I realized you were kidding and had a good laugh. Thanks!

Worst: Shiba Inu. They’re just so unfriendly and behave like cats.

Np I read about their health issues and that turned me off

THIS. The person I knew that had one lived on a horse farm in upstate NY. Lots of room, lots of cold outdoors.
