I've recently started cooking with the crock pot we got as a wedding present years ago, but we have formica countertops and I'm not sure if it is safe to place the crock pot on them for extended periods of time. Am I doing damage to the countertops with my crock pot set on high for 4 hours or off gassing something in the plastic?
Just curious what others do who have formica in their kitchen. thanks |
| I either put it on a trivet on top of the counter or on the burner of the stove. |

| been leaving mine (while on) on my formica countertops for years. |
| On the formica countertop and I don't worry at all. |

| ^^ oops sorry . We have Formica and no problems so far |
| i put it on a cookie sheet on the counter. won't stop heat transfer, but would catch any possible overflow. |
| On the laminate countertop. Never had any problem. |
| Never thought about it. On the formica, for years. |
Same. I actually thought this would be about where do you store it. |
