Rec for Doula for medicated, Sibley delivery?

Anonymous
I am pregnant with my second child and will be delivering at Sibley. After my first, failed attempt at natural childbirth (and a 42 hour labor), I am not interested in trying natural childbirth again and will be having an epidural. That said, my husband wants to hire a doula this time around, in part since we both found the majority of L& D nurses at Sibley to be more interested in monitors than patients.... And, also apparently, I am also a difficult patient !

Anyone have any recommendations for doulas that might be a good match?

Thanks! Baby is due in early February.

Try Heather Wilson (www.heatherwilsondoula.com) I delivered at Sibley with an epidural and was so grateful to have her by my side!

Good luck!

Heather Wilson is excellent although very busy. Do contact her and she'll recommend other doulas if your dates do not work with her calendar. This is how we found our current doula, Suzanne McGowan and we are very pleased.

Question: how can a doula working alone (without colleagues) like Heather Wilson make sure she doesn't double book deliveries as the dates are never set in stone? I'm considering her for my birth in May and would like to hear your ivews. Thanks

Heather always arranges a back up doula and will let you know in advance who that is. As for reviews, she was our doula when DD was born almost a year ago, and I can not say enough good things about her!! Heather is absolutely fantastic and DH and I were both so grateful to have her by our side. I also trust her judgment, so I bet any back up doula she picks would be well-screened. Good luck!

With an epidural, how did Heather help?
