What can you tell me about Bridgewater? We drove through the campus last weekend and it had a nice, albeit rural feel. It has the DIv 3 sports that DS plays and small classes he needs.

The one in MA is a university now, not a college.

A good friend teaches there. He does a class trip to NYC for students because most are so underexposed to the country at large that they never have the opportunity to go there. It is a small school that is mostly populated by the local community - rural, and everything that goes with it (conservative, religious). It's probably a good education and a nice, safe, pretty place. I think of college as an opportunity to broaden one's horizons, which is not going to happen at Bridgewater (though I guess it would be good for us urbanites to know more rural folk).

Never heard of it.

Bridgewater might be a good place for a kid who needs a smaller pond and would be distracted with an urban SLAC. I think those who graduate from there are big fans.

"urban SLAC?"

Bridgewater is for the cows....literally. That's what you see. If your S is okay swimming in the shallow pond and thrives in its company, along with playing a sport, it's worth the consideration. Just be cognizant of retention/graduation rates. Not all like what they see once there.
