Running group for 50+ in Chevy Chase?

I see runners from time to time, but do not know where to join? I'm not looking for marathon training.

I live in Chevy Chase too. My instinct is that if you see groups of runners in the a.m., they're likely participating in a boot camp.

If you see 20-32 yr old groups of mixed gender runners on the weekend, they're likely sponsored by a running gear store such as Fleet Feet or Potomac River Running in cleveland park.

The running store in Friendship Heights has a running group, if that's close enough for you.

The BCC Y in the fall has a training program for the Turkey Chase. I did it one year and although it had a range of runners, there were a significant number of runners of varying speed and stamina who were over 50. As a boomer, I regret I didn't get their contact information because it is fun to run with someone else.

Bumping this! Any good running clubs/ weekly runs on the weekends in the Tenleytown/ Bethesda / CC area?

Park Run has a weekly timed 5k every Saturday at Beech drive in Kensington. It’s a wide mix of ages and abilities; there are super fast runners to people who walk the course and everyone in between. It’s timed but not a “race.” Need to sign up (free) to get a scannable barcode before you come for the first time. Quite a few people go out to brunch afterward. Nice community.
