How long can restaurant leftovers be left at room temperature before they to into a refrigerator?

Food-ignorant DH here. We have some fried fish that went into our refrigerator from a restaurant. About two hours elasped. I got sick once on mini-burgers that were out for 4 hours, so I kind of think that is too long. I know it should be refrigerated right away but does two hours pass your common-sense test?

If it's something to be reheated, and it was laying at room temperature on the counter or something (instead of in a hot car), I'd still eat it. Then again I have a pretty strong digestive system (possibly strengthened over time because I've done this repeatedly )

I would totally eat it.

I'd totally eat that. But I have guts of steel possibly from my father feeding me salami at 6 months old when my mom wasn't looking.
