Hi--
Has anyone gone through IVF at Walter Reed NMMC? If so, how was your experience? Anyone have a successful pregnancy after undergoing IVF there? Thank you for your feedback. MJ |

I went through IVF at Walter Reed (ART Inst). I was 37 at the time with a diagnosis of MF infertility and thyroid issues on me. I had twins the first time I went through IVF. DH had corrective surgery there and we ended up with one more child.
I had a friend who was an embryologist there - he had worked at a number of the area clinics and told me that straight up they had the highest success rates. He attributed it to the fact it was not profit driven (so they tell you like it is and whether you don't have a shot in hell). That they still take on "hard" cases but will not ever give false hope and that the patient population tended to be more health minded than what he saw on the outside (particularly the military women). They ate well and exercised, etc. You will not get much in emotional support. But I didn't need someone to hold my hand. I wanted a baby and looked at it as a very mechanical process that lasted two weeks of shots, etc. |

OP: THank you for your post. This was extremely helpful. How was the process overall for you? Any advice?
Glad to hear you had such success! |
