Bleeding after Cervix Check

I'm 37 weeks and had a cervix check earlier today during my appointment. Since then I have had period-like bleeding. I called the doctor and she said that I should expect some bleeding but it seems a bit heavy to me. I was just wondering if others experienced this as well. This is my first pregnancy and I don't know if I am overreacting or not. Thanks.

I remember being alarmed as well with the amount of bleeding from the first check they did. I started bleeding in the office and didn't have a large pad (was only wearing a panty liner) and had to call for the nurse when I realized I was bleeding on the table. I was mortified, but she was very nice and told me that I should have been warned about it.

I don't think the bleeding lasted long. The heavier flow stopped by the next day and then just spotting. If it continues for more than a day or two than I would call your dr back.

Was your cervix dilated or effaced at all? Are you sure your doctor didn't strip your membranes? I only bled after having my membranes stripped.

my doc told me that some spotting was normal. I would seek second opinion with heavier bleeding...
