| So, I made this amazing Burmese dish that calls for turmeric and my 2 yr old dropped a tiny drop on his turquoise shirt and I washed it with soap right away and now have tide from a tide stain pen on it, but help! The turquoise short now has a random lime green blob... |
| If you washed and dried it, it's likely a permanent lime green blob. If not, try oxyclean. Or a paste of baking soda. |
| Oh, turmeric is the worst. It's a bitch to get out if you get on it immediately. If it's already been through the wash, it's set til judgment day. |
| turmeric = no hope. seriously. i just changed my daughter's clothes so she could eat dal with turmeric. |
| yup - it's the worst. |
| It's in the wash now - after the tide stain remover stuff sat on it for a bit... Ugh. |
| Try to soak overnight in Biz. But, it sounds like its bleached the pigment green. So sorry. |
|
Real life conversation I had once:
Me: How do you get out turmeric stains? Other person: You don't. |
| Try Wisk. |
The truth ^^^ |
| Buy Stain Devil - those little yellow bottles - they have different ones for different stains, so check the chart on the inside flap on the front. It's a great brand, took out some bad pasta sauce stains. |
| Don't waste your time. Cut out stain and iron on cute patch. Turmeric doesn't come out. |
| You can try to put it direct sunlight outside after it's washed...it helps. Trick of many Indian aunties. |
|
Op here - I'm feeling so sad! It was his cutest shirt. Never making Burmese noodle soup again!
