need advice on installing dishwasher and new garbage disposal, wiring

I would like to put in a dishwasher where we currently have drawers in our kitchen. That cabinet/drawers will have to be cut out before the dishwasher can be put in. We also need to replace our garbage disposal. When it worked, the kitchen lights dimmed when we ran it, and someone told me the garbage disposal should be on a separate circuit (which makes sense). We'll also have to have some electrical work done before the dishwasher can go in, I assume.

Given all of this, what type of home repair professionals do I need and in what order? I assume I should have a licensed electrician take care of the wiring. Any recommendations for reasonably priced folks (we're in DC)?

I would look for a one-man-shop GC kind of guy. Our kitchen guy would probably do it (we loved him!) but so would a lot of other small-time people. I'd ask around for recommendations.
