Have to disagree on Gone With The Wind.

Pretty much nothing.

Although the BBC's version of P and P with Colin Firth was very satisfying.

Double Indemnity - B.S is fantastic in this!

Wizard of oz. book is good, but the movie is really special.

I agree with you on gone with the wind. The book is good, but the movie endures better.

I personally enjoyed the Lord of the Rings movies more than the books. Although I feel the other way around for The Hobbit.

Books are always better than movies. Books allow your imagination to see the scenes as you envision them. Movies show you what the actors, directors, and producers envision.

White Oleander.

As for 12:16 - usually true, but at least with WO, the director made some better choices than I would ever have imagined, and even in some cases than the author chose, yet the movie remained totally true to the book.

Forrest Gump. You can't believe how bad the book is compared to the movie.

I would say that the True Blood series is significantly better than the Sookie Stackhouse books in general.

The books spend a lot of time focusing on how thrifty
Sookie is, how often she shops at Walmart, and her love of tanning.

Not a movie, but Dexter. The books are terribly written and the show is awesome.

To Kill a Mockingbird- I'd say the film and book are even.
