Long Weekend getaway ideas

Anyone love their long weekend (2-3 nights) getaway w/in 3 1/2 hrs drive of DC??
I was thinking W VA or somewhere around there? Any specific towns?
We have family in Philly, so we're trying to avoid that (haha)
Also, planning to go in late March/early April.
I'm also trying to avoid amusement parks, so no Hershey/Dorney/Sesame Pl.

How's Williamsburg with a 4 1/2 yr old?
